The Kranks’ home is rather dark this Christmas. No tree, no lights, no gifts, no Frosty up on the roof.
Luther and Nora Krank still believe in celebrating the birth of Christ, but their house is the only one on Hemlock Street which keeps Frosty the Snowman hidden in the basement. Because Blair, their young and pretty daughter, is gone with the Peace Corps in Peru, where she’s theaching little children how to read.
So, Luther had an idea: skipping Christmas, and taking a cruise instead, in the Caribbean, for ten days. He was quite proud of his decision to take a year off.
Though, Blair’s coming home on Christmas Eve, and not alone, but with her mysterious new fiancé. So, Mr. and Mrs. Krank are running around like crazy trying to put together a last-minute party.
Because Christmas was a time of joy and peace around the world.
What thinks Mr. Krank about skipping Christmas : What a ridiculous idea. Maybe next year.
A very funny book. I have laughed a lot.
Merry Christmas! :)
